Historical Photoalbum... Indian CAV - on its way through war...
Here I will publish some historical pics from my collection. For more original pictures, check my book: "An American in Paris".

More of these will be in my next book....
Left:

One of the best shots of a brand new Indian 74 Model 340 CAV one can get! The machine is fully original and unused. It is a LATE version (see pillion seat and passenger handle).
This machine belonged to the very last batch (CAV 4850 and up) and was, after the fall of France, delivered to the Canadian Army - Summer 1940.
Check the glossy color of the original paint, the placing of the tool box, the glossy green colored airfilter, the glossy black MOTO LAMP, horn and handlebars.
Note the nice original FILLRITE battery with Indian logo, the grey grips and all cadmium plated fasteners....
The tires are the civil Firestone S-3 Deluxe Champion 4.00-18
The machine is registered C 40-1-1484 and belongs to the 7 CDN FD. COY. (Petawawa - 1940).
